Dr. Carly Hohorst, DVM, CVA, cAVCA

Hi, I'm Dr. Carly Hohorst. I am originally from Easton, CT. I have always had a passion for animals! My mom is a chiropractor, so I was born and raised in a chiropractic household. I knew from a young age that I wanted to be able to holistically help our companion animals. Growing up, my family was always looking for a veterinarian to support our beloved pets in a similar way that we took care of ourselves. I aspired to be the veterinarian that I wished I had for my own animals when I was young.

I graduated from Sacred Heart University with a bachelor's degree in biology in 2016. I then attended Midwestern University College of Veterinary Medicine in Glendale, Arizona and graduated with my Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2021. My DVM degree truly opened the door to holistic veterinary medicine. Upon graduation, I began working at a small animal practice in North Phoenix, AZ and immediately enrolled in an acupuncture course at Chi University in Reddick, Florida. I graduated from the program in 2021.

This course exposed me to Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine and herbal formulas. I have also studied Hospice and Palliative care and Food Therapy at Chi University. My family moved back to CT in August 2022 to be closer to family. I worked at the wonderful Georgetown Veterinary Hospital in Georgetown, CT. I completed my chiropractic education from The Animal Chiropractic Education Source in Meridan, Texas in April 2023 and became certified by the American Veterinary Chiropractic Association in October 2023.

During my time at Georgetown Veterinary Hospital, my husband was offered a job opportunity in Castle Rock, CO. It was an opportunity that he could not pass up and we ended up moving back out west. We purchased our dream property in Elizabeth, CO in July 2023 and I started Earth Vet Holistic Animal Care.

I enjoy spending my free time with my husband, Cody and our animals; Lilly, Finn, Hailey, Archie, Oliver, Solea, Cheddie, and Magnolia. Yes, we have moved across the country multiple times with this crew! I am a lifelong horse lover and equestrian. I received my foundation in horsemanship from the United States Pony Club and have a background in dressage. My equestrian philosophy has progressed to meet the needs of my current herd, especially my heart horse, Solea. I practice holistic horsemanship and we are currently building a track system at our home for our herd. I also enjoy hiking, paddle boarding, and yoga when the time allows.

I have seen the benefits of chiropractic, acupuncture, food therapy, and traditional Chinese medicine in my patients as well as my own animals. I am looking forward to meeting you and your companion!
