Veterinary Acupuncture

Veterinary acupuncture is an Eastern modality that involves the insertion of fine needles into specific points on the body to stimulate the nervous system and restore balance. In Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine (TCVM) the goal of acupuncture is to restore the flow of Qi in the body. At each acupuncture point there is a concentration of free nerve endings, arterioles, lymphatic vessels, and mast cells. These acupuncture points can be stimulated though dry needling, aqua puncture, electrical simulation, and moxibustion. The stimulation of the acupuncture points leads to an endorphin, serotonin release. Some acupuncture effects include but are not limited to fever reduction, GI regulation, decrease in inflammation, blood pressure regulation, stress relief, aging prevention, and performance enhancement. Acupuncture can be used in addition to conventional medicine to treat a variety of conditions including orthopedic disease, lameness, injuries, neurological conditions, allergies, behavioral problems, anxiety, cancer, and internal medicine conditions.

Veterinary Chiropractic

Chiropractic addresses the root causes of physical problems rather than merely treating symptoms. It is grounded in a straightforward yet powerful premise: with a properly functioning spine and a healthy nervous system, the body can better heal itself. The spine serves as the conduit for the nervous system, which controls sensation, movement, and all bodily functions. In simple terms, animal chiropractors identify abnormal or restricted joint movement in the spine and extremities, which can affect the nervous system and the entire body. Their goal is to restore proper joint movement to enable the nervous system and the body to function at their optimal, healthy potential.

Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine

Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine is an integrative approach to healthcare for your companion. It looks at the patient as a whole to identify any imbalances and to restore Qi. TCVM utilizes a combination of treatment methods including: acupuncture, food therapy, herbal medicine, and tui-na (Massage) to restore balance in the body. These modalities are tailored to the animals personality and TCVM constitution.

Cold Laser Therapy

Cold laser therapy provides precise and non-invasive treatment for issues such as pain management, inflammation reduction, and acupuncture point stimulation. The laser emits light energy (photons) that stimulates cellular healing, relives discomfort, and accelerates recovery. It is a safe and very well tolerated modality. It is also useful to stimulate acupuncture points on patients who cannot tolerate needle placement.
